Restoration hardware; Out with the old, and in with the new
January 30, 2009

Restoration hardwareis not necessarily the original door hardware, cabinet hardware or any other form of decorative hardware that was used on that which it is replacing. Remember you are restoring your old worn out maybe rusty door hardware with one that is new.
That’s not to say that the new piece of decorative hardware that’s replacing the existing one doesn’t look old or worn, for it probably should if your trying to restore a particular look or era. So don’t get confused with the word replica unless your actually trying to duplicate or create to a carbon copy the door hardware your replacing.
