Child-proofing your home

December 6, 2008 - Mr. Armstrong

There are a few areas that are especially important when child-proofing your home.  These areas are outlets, cabinets and drawers, and loose wires.  There is a number of items on the market today that can help you out with this.

Childproofing

Loose wires are the easiest to fix.  Try using plastic tie straps to secure them to each other then make sure that they are tucked out of reach behind a desk or other piece of furniture.  The are outlet protectors that can be purchased at your local department store.  These are plastic pieces that resemble an electrical plug that can be inserted into the outlet and fit snug against the switch plate covers so that they can not be removed easily.  The last areas are the cabinets and drawers.  These can be secured with special child-proofing locks that can also be purchased at your local department store.
