Winter Fun
December 3, 2008
Remembering back 25 years or so when I was a young teen, the long months of old man winter meant lots of fun in the snow for me and my friends from school. We would all get together on a weekend and head on down to our favorite sledding hill for some good old fashioned competion.
It wasn’t just about speed, but more often who could perform the most outstanding air jumps while still maintaining control of their sled without falling off. I had a pretty good sled, but I needed to figure out a way that I could hold on better while I was airborn. That’s when I got the bright idea to go down to the local harware store and purchase a pair of wrought iron drawer pulls, which I then fastened to each side of my sled for hand grips.
Wow, it worked great! Not only did I become the envy of my sledding buddies that winter, but had lots of fun doing it!
