My newly remodeled kitchen

 Beautiful handcrafted bin pull

At first I had wanted to buy a new home, but inflation was starting to affect my monthly budget, especially since gas prices at the pump were soaring higher than ever.  I had already talked to my banker about a loan and he told me that the banks were extremely cautious on who and how much they would lend, and said that he would get back to me soon.  A couple of days later I found myself sitting in his office waiting anxiously for his reply.  Based on my financial  report, he explained that they couldn’t lend me the amount that I had asked for, but could work something out on a home equity loan.

After thinking it over, I decided that maybe remodeling my home was a better idea then buying one.  I was starting to get excited now because I could still have a better and a more beautiful of a home without the extra expense of a higher mortgage.  My decision ended with a newly remodeled kitchen, bathroom and family room.  Wow!  I couldn’t believe what the kitchen looked liked when it was complete.  It had a new ceramic floor, and the walls were repainted with cheerful colors of yellow and green hues.  The cabinetry was a beautiful knotty pine with new kitchen cabinet knobs and pulls that gave them a charming southwestern flair.  I even went so far as to add that little extra to the walls with some new handcrafted wrought iron switch-plate covers.  I now had the house of my dreams without the added expense of a new one!
