Or maybe they’ll come out in a dead heat if you decide to use both of them on your kitchen cabinetry. It’s kind of neat if both come out as winners without any discrimination attached!

Get Creative With Drawer Pulls
February 28, 2009
There are a variety of drawer pulls that can add new life to any room or piece of furniture. First of all their are many different types of drawer pulls out there. The type of drawer pull that you choose should depend on the style of furniture or room that you have. For instance, rustic metal drawer pulls would look best with mountain hardware which will give your room a country look. There are some creative types out there that can use drawer pulls to reflect their personality. For example, you could buy a plain colored drawer pull and paint it blue with green polka dots.
Secondly, drawer pulls can add new life to any room or old piece of furniture. In a way drawer pulls can be thought of as a piece of restoration hardware. For instance, say you have an old dresser; don’t just throw it out when it gets worn down. You will be surprised by how much nicer that dresser will look with some new drawer pulls; it will be like having a brand new piece of furniture. You can also change the feel of an entire room by getting new hardware including drawer pulls. You could give a home that is straight out of the 60’s a contemporary feel. So, don’t be afraid; go ahead and go crazy with drawer pulls.
Drawer pulls for the hunter

Don’t forget about your husband ladies when you decide to surprise him with some unique drawer pulls that maybe he could use in his shop. Maybe he’s one of those guys who just loves that great sport of hunting, so think of some creative decorative hardware that would captivate that theme.
Try a little search on the web and I’ll bet that you can find almost anything if you’re willing to spend some time doing so. The picture above shows a very neat use for some deer antlers being used as drawer pulls. So if your hubby thinks he has everything he needs in his shop, a little gift like this might add to his collection.
Keeping your restoration hardware secure
February 18, 2009
Have you ever tried to open a door, with the door knob only being loose and about ready to fall off? About once a year it would be wise to check and see if any of your restoration hardware became loose due to the constant hand traffic that they receive after an extended period of time.
How about your kitchen cabinet knobs and pulls, or the towel ring you installed on your bathroom wall, or the strap hinge on your front entry door? Most of the decorative hardware that is moved or handled every day in your home usually needs to be tightened at one point and it only takes a little effort on your part to do it.

Now why on earth would someone want to put a showy brass type piece of decorative hardware on a rough sawn looking cabinet door? I guess to each his or her own, but wouldn’t a cabin styled set of kitchen cabinets look better with cabinet knobs and pulls that had a more rustic wrought iron look, or maybe even a hammered type design to them?
Often overlooked, wrought iron cabinet hardware is both rugged and beautiful, and comes in a variety of designs to suit your fancy. And may I add, the black iron it’s made from is fairly heavy and extremely durable, making it that showpiece that will last a lifetime and then some.
